How It Works

Alfa Laval’s ThinkTop® V40 control unit delivers a compact, single-sensor solution for butterfly and single seat valves. Using one solenoid valve, the control unit translates electrical PLC output signals into mechanical energy, which either energizes or de-energizes the air-operated valve through a sensor target mounted on the valve stem.

Installation is simple and efficient with Alfa Laval’s Live Setup feature. Operators can initiate the Live Setup sequence by activating the solenoid valve’s manual override—after which the Alfa Laval ThinkTop® V40 automatically detects the valve type and completes the programming. Alternatively, setup can be done remotely via PLC, eliminating the need to disassemble the control unit.
